Garman. The meetings will be at new times:  Saturday, May 1 at 9:30 a.m. and Monday, May 3 at 10:00 a.m.  Participants will be offered two 6-inch blocks per month in two different colorways:  Batiks and Floral Pastels.  There will be no add-on blocks. ConKerr Cancer Quakertown Quilts Friendswood is a collection point for pillowcases made to support the efforts of ConKerr Cancer, a group who provides pillowcases for children who are in the hospital.   Our pillowcases will be sent to M.D. Anderson Children's Area.  We have brochures in the shop or visit ConKerr Cancer website for more information.  A huge thank you to all of you who have been bringing in pillowcases - you are terrific! Third Saturday and Following Monday Back-it Up Days On every third Saturday and following Monday, you have the opportunity to purchase fabrics in our Backroom area that is discounted even more!  Buy three yards of the same fabrics and receive a 10% discount.  Purchase 6 yards and you receive a 15% discount and 9 yards entitles you to 20% discount off that one fabric. Do you know we do e-mail alerts letting our customers know upcoming events and other happenings at Quakertown?  If you have not received an e-mail alert from us within the last several weeks, be sure to update your e-mail address either here on our website or the next time you are in the shop. 3rd Tuesday Sampler 2010 Join the 3rd Tuesday Strippers at 10:00 a.m. on each 3rd Tuesday.  A new session started May 18.  All of the blocks this year will involve strippin'.  This year's emphasis will be on scraps - using them up and "scrapping it up."  Each 12" block will be a combination of stripped pieces you create and regular fabric cuts.  You are encouraged to bring your reproduction fabric scraps from home to trade, plus your scissors! We are located about 20 miles from Houston, Texas.  From downtown, take I-45 south (Gulf Freeway) towards Galveston.  Exit FM 2351 for Friendswood. Turn right (west) on FM 2351. Drive about 3 miles to the corner of FM 2351 and FM 518 (Friendswood Drive).  We are located on the south west corner.  If you are planning a day in this area, we are a short 20 minute drive from NASA and the Kemah Boardwalk.  There are also several great restaurants near our shop and along the Kemah Boardwalk. Special Holiday Hours We are closed all day on New Year's Day, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving and Christmas Days.  We are also closed all Sundays.  We close early on the day before Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's.  We are open all other days.
